Courses

Load Haul Dumper (LHD) – Novice

This course trains learners to safely and efficiently operate a Load Haul Dumper in underground mining environments. It covers pre-use inspections, loading and hauling procedures, machine controls, hazard identification, and compliance with mine safety rules.

Electro-Hydraulic Drill Rig – Novice

Learners are trained in the safe operation of electro-hydraulic drill rigs used in underground drilling operations. The course focuses on equipment setup, drilling procedures, hazard control, machine care, and adherence to mine-specific standards.

Dump Truck (Rigid Body) – Novice

This programme equips learners with the skills to operate rigid body dump trucks underground. Training includes vehicle inspections, loading and dumping techniques, safe driving practices, traffic management, and operational safety.

Dump Truck (Articulated) – Novice

This course focuses on the operation of articulated dump trucks in confined underground conditions. Learners gain knowledge of articulation control, stability management, load handling, gradient operation, and hazard awareness.

Utility Vehicle (UV) – Novice

Learners are trained to operate underground utility vehicles used for personnel and material transport. The course covers defensive driving, underground traffic rules, inspections, and safe vehicle operation in low-visibility environments.

Skid Steer Loader – Novice

This programme provides training in the safe use of skid steer loaders for underground material handling and cleaning operations. Topics include machine controls, manoeuvring in confined spaces, attachment use, and workplace safety.

Light Delivery Vehicle – Novice

This course prepares learners to safely operate light delivery vehicles within underground mining operations. Training includes vehicle inspections, underground driving procedures, load handling, and compliance with mine transport rules.

Refresher Training (All TMM Courses)

Refresher courses are designed for experienced operators to renew competence, reinforce safe operating practices, and ensure ongoing compliance with mine standards and the Mine Health and Safety Act. Practical assessments are conducted on the mine to verify continued operational competence.
